Pre-Budget Consultations

The Manitoba NDP government has launched pre-budget consultations in advance of next year’s budget. This is an annual exercise where the government asks Manitobans what they want to see in the budget. Unfortunately, under the NDP in recent years, it is clear they aren’t actually listening to the feedback.

A prime example was the increase in the PST from 7% to 8%. There is no indication that Manitobans were asking for this increase yet the NDP increased it anyway. It seems that the next real opportunity for Manitobans to give feedback to the NDP government won’t happen at pre-budget consultation meetings, but at the ballot box in April during the provincial election.
