Steinbach Chamber of Commerce

The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce has played a varied and significant role in the life of Steinbach. We have worked to improve trade and commerce, promote tourism, as well as to work for the economic and social welfare of Steinbach and surrounding area. Together we have assisted in the making of various large community projects a reality.

In the early years we promoted the establishment of more schools and continue to support and promote education and school activities. We also take an active role in the promotion of adult education.

Community facilities in Steinbach that have received input from the Steinbach Chamber include the Bethesda Hospital, the Civic Center, The Mennonite Heritage Village, the Centennial and T.G. Smith arenas, and the Jake Epp Public Library to name a few.

Community ventures with Chamber connections, that are still currently viable, include the City Beautification Committee, various highway signs, the Farmers Market Co-op, and the Steinbach Campground. The latest project is the establishment of an Immigration Settlement office to assist immigrants (mainly German speaking) to settle in Manitoba and the Steinbach area.

The City of Steinbach and the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce produced an acclaimed brochure on the community called Your City, Steinbach. We also assume the responsibility of having a current map of the City of Steinbach available for free distribution. Also the Southeast attractions guide is a must have for the adventurer.
