On December 2, 2016, at about 5:30pm, Selkirk RCMP, along with local Emergency Services, responded to a motor vehicle collision at the corner of Provincial Road 27 and Highway 8 in the RM of St. Andrews, Manitoba.

Police investigation revealed that a northbound pickup truck on Highway 8, struck a semi truck turning south at the intersection of PR 27 and Highway 8 in the RM of St. Andrews.

Police say that the driver of the pickup truck, a 61-year-old man from the RM of St. Andrews, was located deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 50-year-old Ontario man, had no injuries.

RCMP report that the intersection of PR 27 and Highway 8 was closed for about 5 hours. There is no indication that alcohol was a factor in this collision and both drivers were wearing there seat belts.
