Steinbach Pistons’ Roman Bengert kicked off his season in style with a pair of wins, one being a shutout. His efforts earned him the first MJHL Recycle Everywhere Player of the Week for the 2016-17 season.

20-year-old Roman Bengert hails from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, which is the same home town as hockey legend Sidney Crosby. The 6-foot-3 goaltender’s early stats are impressive: GAA of 1.00, with a .949 save percentage.

This week’s runners-up are 20-year-old Scott Gall, forward for the the Winkler Flyers and 18-year-old Connor Barley forward for the Selkirk Steelers.
