Steinbach RCMP investigate arson
Steinbach RCMP are asking the public for information in connection with an arson incident that occurred earlier this week in Steinbach.
On July 31, 2012, at approximately 9:11am, Steinbach RCMP received a complaint of arson. Police say that the incident had occurred overnight at a construction site situated at 230 Barkman Avenue in Steinbach. The fire consisted of someone setting a small fire inside the building resulting in minor damage.
Steinbach Fire Department attended and immediately put out the fire. The Office of the Fire Commissioner also attended the scene and deemed the fire suspicious.
It is unknown at this time if the fire was meant to burn down the site and there is no damage estimate at this time. Left behind at the scene was a Los Angeles Kings hat.
