Toews addressed the crowd of over 800 and provided them with an update on the Conservative Government’s accomplishments.

“I want to assure you that Canada’s economic well being continues to be our Conservative Government’s top priority,” said Toews. “Our government is focused on creating jobs, promoting economic growth, and ensuring long-term prosperity. Indeed, the International Monetary Fund recently projected Canada will continue to be at the head of the pack among G-7 countries for economic growth in the years ahead.”

Toews touched on several other issues during his speech to constituents as well, including the government’s commitment to lower taxes.

“Our Conservative Government understands that Canadians work tirelessly to get ahead, pay their bills and support their families,” added Toews. “We don’t call it ‘government’ money; we call it ‘taxpayers’ money. That’s why we’ve cut taxes over 140 times since 2006, reducing the overall tax burden to its lowest level in nearly 50 years.”

The annual barbeque is held each summer and allows MP Toews an opportunity to meet with Constituents from across the riding of Provencher.
