Motorcycle and police car collide

On August 26, 2012, RCMP Units attended the scene of an RCMP marked police vehicle and motorcycle collision which occurred shortly before 6pm on Highway 59 at the floodway bridge near Garven road.

Police say that the southbound lane of Highway 59 was closed to traffic between Garven road and the Perimeter. Traffic was being detoured at Garven Road.

The Officer and rider involved had been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist will be assisting with the investigation.

Witnesses are asked to call Selkirk RCMP Traffic Services at 204-482-8114.
