RCMP investigate copper wire theft

Between October 8 and October 24, 2012, an unknown number of persons stole copper wiring from hydro poles in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

Police say that individuals removed the copper ground wires from numerous hydro poles along 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Street NW in Portage la Prairie. The removal of such wires, by persons who are not trained to do so, poses a potential heath and safety risk.

Anyone with information about these incidents are asked to contact the Portage la Prairie RCMP at 204-857-4445 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
