Steinbach RCMP respond to vehicle collision
On February 7, 2013, shortly before 12pm, Steinbach RCMP were dispatched to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Barkman Avenue and Main Street. Also attending the scene was the Steinbach Fire Department and EMS.
RCMP report that four vehicles were involved in this collision. During the initial investigation, it was determined that an eastbound car had collided with a northbound van. The car then lost control, colliding with two unoccupied vehicles. The van had stopped a short distance north of Main Street.
Police say that the two unoccupied vehicles as well as the northbound van sustained minor damage. The eastbound car sustained a considerable amount of damage and was later towed from the scene.
The driver of the eastbound car was taken to Steinbach Hospital for a precautionary medical assessment, however, no injuries were reported during this event.
Charges have not been laid at this time and alcohol was not a contributing factor into this collision. Steinbach RCMP will continue to investigate.
