On July 22, 2014, Stonewall RCMP charged two individuals in relation to an assault that occurred during a minor hockey league championship game between Stonewall and Lake Manitoba First Nation (Dog Creek) back in March, 2014.

Police say that all three of the game referees were the target of a puck shot by one of the youths on the Dog Creek team. Two of the referees were also physically struck by a separate youth on the Dog Creek team. There were no serious injuries.

RCMP report that a 14-year-old female from Lake Manitoba First Nation has been charged with assault with a weapon. A 13-year-old female from Lake Manitoba First Nation has also been charged. The two female youths are not in police custody and their first court appearance is September 29, 2014, in Stonewall Provincial Court.
