On July 29, 2014, at approximately 1pm, Blue Hills RCMP responded to a collision on Highway 10 and Road 48 North, south of Brandon, Manitoba.

Police say that a car was traveling northbound on Highway 10 when it collided with a SUV going southbound. Initial investigation shows the car had drifted across the centre line.

The driver of the car, a 69-year-old male from Carberry, was transported to local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the SUV, an 87-year-old woman from Hartney, was also transported to local hospital, where she is in stable condition.

RCMP report that alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the collision and it appears that both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
