On September 30, 2014, at approximately 3:45pm, Steinbach RCMP received a report of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Road 40N and Road 32E in the RM of Hanover, Manitoba.

Police say that a 51-year-old female driver in a 2004 GMC Envoy was traveling south on Road 32N when she collided with a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire that was traveling west on Road 40N. The collision caused the Sunfire to end up on its roof in a ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection with the Envoy sitting on top. The 37-year-old male driver of the Sunfire and the driver and passenger of the Envoy were able to exit their vehicles. The female driver and passenger declined medical attention while the male driver was transported to hospital as a precautionary measure.

RCMP report that alcohol and gravel road dust may have been factors in the cause of the accident, however the investigation is still continuing. The male driver was released from hospital and is presently facing charges of driving while disqualified as well as driving an unregistered vehicle.
