On October 16, 2014, at approximately 3:30pm, Carman RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision Road 8 NE, one mile east of Altona, Manitoba. Also responding to the collision was the Altona Police Services and Emergency First Responders.
Police say that a red Dodge Ram pickup truck, traveling southbound on Road 3E, along with a black Ford Winstar minivan, traveling eastbound on Road 8 NE, collided at an uncontrolled intersection.
RCMP report that the driver of the minivan, a 46-years-old man from the RM of Rhineland, was pronounced deceased at the scene.The passenger of the minivan, a 17-year-old female, also from the RM of Rhineland, was transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, a 21-year-old man from Gretna, was transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Alcohol is not considered a factor in this incident. The Forensic Collisions Analyst Unit is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
