On May 5, 2015, just before 10pm, Stonewall RCMP received a report of a collision on Provincial Road 322, just north of Grosse Isle, Manitoba.

When officers arrived at the scene, a motorcycle was lying in the middle of the road and a single rider was on the road unconscious. The rider, a 48-year-old Winnipeg man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police investigation shows that the rider was heading south on Provincial Road 322 when he struck a deer on the road. The deer was found dead in the east ditch near the motorcycle and the deceased.

RCMP report that the rider was wearing a helmet and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this incident. The road was closed for approximately two hours while an RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist attended and investigated the scene.
