On September 25, 2015 Swan River RCMP initiated an investigation regarding a video posted on social media. The video, obtained by police, displayed a cluster of very concerning traffic offences, which clearly put the public at risk.

RCMP report that the suspect vehicle was identified and the driver charged. Sheldon Karl Skulmoski, 43, of the RM of Swan Valley West, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, as well as an assortment of Highway Traffic Act offences.

“Our officers have many ways to investigate criminal offences and those include monitoring activities and postings on public sites and social media,” said Sgt. Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP. “The total disregard for public safety is what ultimately led to criminal charges being laid in this case.”

Police say that the accused has been released before a Justice on his own Recognizance, with conditions and that this matter comes before a Provincial Court Judge in Swan River on November 4, 2015.
