On April 25, 2016, at approximately 5:30pm, officers from The Pas RCMP were called to the Opaskwayak Cree Nation following the discovery of a deceased female.
Police say that the deceased had been partially submerged in a pool of water behind an embankment within the community. The Pas RCMP, General Investigation Section (GIS) as well as Forensic Identification Services are involved in the investigation.
“While thorough investigative steps have not revealed foul play so far, officers from several specialized sections continue to investigate this case,” said Sgt Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP.
