Break and enter at Waver's Gas Bar in Selkirk

On December 3, 2009, at approximately 1:40am, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at the Waver’s Gas Bar and Convenience Store located in Scanterbury, Manitoba on Highway 59.

RCMP received information from South Beach Casino Security Staff that a dark coloured suspect vehicle was observed traveling southbound on Highway 59 in the RM of St. Clement’s.

Selkirk RCMP located the southbound suspect vehicle a short time later on Highway 59 near Highway 509 in the RM of St. Clement’s.

RCMP conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle where the 20-year-old driver and two 21-year-old passengers were arrested.

RCMP have charged 20-year-old Christopher Soares of Edmonton with break and enter with intent and theft under $5,000. RCMP also charged 21-year-old Tyson Richard Clark of Winnipeg with break and enter with intent, theft under $5,000 and fail to comply with a recognizance. Both Soares and Clark were remanded in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre and are scheduled to appear in Winnipeg Court on December 4, 2009. RCMP released a 21-year-old Winnipeg woman on a promise to appear and will be facing charges of break and enter with intent and possession of property obtained by crime. The woman is scheduled to appear in Selkirk Court on January 15, 2010.

RCMP recovered over $4,000 in cash that was stolen from the break and enter.
