Vehicle collision in Portage la Prairie

On February 17, 2010, at about 1:30pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Saskatchewan Avenue and Shindleman Way in Portage la Prairie.

Portage la Prairie RCMP attended the location with Portage Emergency Services.

Investigation at the scene revealed that a Chevrolet truck, which had been stopped at a railway crossing, was struck from behind by a 2002 Honda car traveling East bound on Saskatchewan Avenue.

The occupants, a 40-year-old woman, driving the Chevrolet truck and a 60-year-old woman, driving the Honda, were taken to Portage General Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Charges are pending under the Highway Traffic Act.

RCMP continue to investigate.
