Residential fire on Long Plain First Nation

On February 23, 2010, at about 2:30am, Portage la Prairie RCMP, Regional Health EMS and Long Plain First Nation Fire Department responded to a fire in a residence on Long Plain First Nation.

On arrival, the residence was completely engulfed in flames and heavy smoke, and was unable to be saved. There was no one inside the residence at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner attended to assist with the investigation.

Police and Fire officials continue to investigate.
