Residential fire in Portage la Prairie
On February 24, 2010, at about 1:30pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP, Regional Health EMS and Portage la Prairie Fire Department responded to a fire in a residence on 6th Avenue North West in Portage la Prairie.
On arrival, the residence was partially engulfed in flames and heavy smoke.
There was one adult male inside the residence at the time of the fire. He was able to get out of the residence and call 911. Both residences beside the home were evacuated until fire could be contained. No injuries were reported.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner attended to assist with the investigation.
A damage estimate has not been provided.
Police and Fire officials continue to investigate.
