Thompson man charged with criminal negligence causing death
On May 14, 2010, shortly after 7am, an unresponsive one and a half month old girl was brought to Thompson General Hospital.
Resuscitation efforts were made, but at approximately 11am, the child succumbed to her injuries. On May 15, 2010, an autopsy was performed at Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg. The cause of death is as result of blunt force trauma.
The father of the child, a 20 year-old male from Thompson, Manitoba, has been charged with criminal negligence causing death in relation to this incident.
The accused’s first court appearance is scheduled for May 17, 2010, at 10am in Provincial Court, Thompson.
RCMP Serious Crime Unit along with the RCMP Thompson Major Crime Unit and RCMP Thompson Forensic Identification Section are assisting Thompson Detachment in this investigation.
