Missing senior located

On July 22, 2010, at approximately 8:30pm, Gimli RCMP received a request to locate an 82-year-old female who had wandered away from home.

Immediate efforts were made to locate the Winnipeg woman who was vacationing at a Gimli cottage.

Through the combined efforts of local RCMP Detachments, the RCMP Search and Rescue team, RCMP Police Dog Services, the Office of the Fire Commissioner and the Fire Departments of Gimli, Arborg and Riverton, this individual was located safe and sound early this morning, not far from where she had been last seen.

RCMP would like to acknowledge the assistance of the Gimli Citizens On Patrol Program, and local volunteers.
