Homicide in Oxford House FN

On July 24, 2010, at approximately 12:45am, Oxford House RCMP Detachment received a report of a male who had been seriously assaulted and was found along a roadway in Oxford House FN.
 
The victim was transported to the local Nursing Station and then flown to Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg where he later died of his injuries.  
 
The Oxford House RCMP Detachment, the RCMP Serious Crime Unit, and RCMP Major Crime Units from Thompson and Winnipeg as well as The Pas RCMP Forensic Identifications Service are investigating this incident.
 
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Scott Elvis Bradburn of Oxford House, Manitoba.
 
An autopsy is scheduled for today at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.  
 
No charges have laid and RCMP continue to investigate.
 
Police are seeking the assistance of the public and anyone with information is urged to contact the Oxford House RCMP Detachment at 204-538-2046 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Update 07/30/10 11:45am

An autopsy was conducted and the cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma. RCMP have charged 18-year-old Jake Bradburn of Oxford House, with manslaughter in relation to this incident. He will be making his first court appearance today in Provincial Court – Thompson. The accused and deceased are related, they are distant relatives.

An autopsy has been completed and the cause of death has been determined to be blunt force trauma. RCMP investigators have arrested 18-year-old Jake Bradburn and 21-year-old Michael Bradburn, both of Oxford House, Manitoba. Both men have been charged with manslaughter in relation to this incident. Jake Bradburn made his first court appearance on July 29. Michael Bradburn will be appearing today in Thompson Provincial Court.
