Search warrant results in handgun and drug seizure
On August 13, 2010, Thompson RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence in the Eastwood area of Thompson.
During the search, a quantity of marijuana, worth approximately $5000, was seized, as well as cash and packaging materials. A handgun was also located and seized from the residence.
36-year-old Craig Saunders of Thompson was arrested on scene. Thompson has been remanded into custody on charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and several firearms related charges.
Thompson is scheduled to appear in Thompson court on August 17, 2010.
