Arrest made in Thompson homicide
Thompson RCMP have made an arrest in connection to a homicide which occurred last week in the City of Thompson, Manitoba.
On September 2, 2010, RCMP had responded to a complaint of an unresponsive woman at 50 Brandon Crescent in the City of Thompson.
The victim had been located deceased at the scene. Thompson RCMP, Winnipeg RCMP Serious crime Unit, Thompson RCMP Major Crime and Thompson RCMP Forensic Identification Unit are investigating.
An autopsy was performed in Winnipeg on September 3, 2010. The cause of death has been determined as blunt force trauma.
The deceased has been identified as a 22-year-old woman from Thompson, Manitoba. At the request of the family, her name will not be released.
20-year-old Dustin Wyatt Chub of Oxford House, has been arrested and charged with 1st Degree Murder. Chub will be appearing in Thompson Provincial Court on September 7, 2010.
The victim and the accused were not previously known to each other.
