Teacher charged in connection with assault incident
On October 22, 2009, RCMP Waywayseecappo Detachment were notified that a female student of the Waywayseecappo Community School reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a male teacher of the Waywayseecappo Community School.
An investigation began and as a result on October 30, 2009, 51-year-old Robert Michael Woron was arrested and has since been formally charged with two counts of sexual interference following allegations on two offences that occurred in October, 2009. He was released on a promise to appear with undertaking with several strict conditions, that include among others, to have no contact or communication with the victim or to be in the company of any child under 16 years of age without another adult present.
He is scheduled to appear on December 9, 2009 in Waywayseecappo Provincial Court.
The name, age and where the victim is from is not being released to protect her identity.
