On May 25, 2012, at approximately 8pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP executed 2 warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act to search 2 residences. One residence was situated in the first block of 18th Street NW in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba and the second residence was situated at a land location north of Southport in the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie in Manitoba.

RCMP officers from Portage la Prairie Detachment along with Portage la Prairie Police Dog Section entered the residences and executed the search warrants. Upon executing the warrant on 18th Street NW, RCMP officers located approximately 20 grams of marijuana, paraphernalia consistent with trafficking marijuana as well as a quantity of cash.

30-year-old Robert Beaulieu has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act as well as possessing property obtained by crime. He has been released on a Promise to Appear in Provincial Court on June 25, 2012.

Upon executing the warrant on the residence in the RM of Portage la Prairie, RCMP officers locatedĀ  approximately 1,200 grams of marijuana which has a value of approximately $12,000 as well as a quantity of cash. Police also located a marijuana grow operation in a quonset on the property. A total of 36 plants were seized.

Charged with production of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, as well as possession of property obtained by crime are 35-year-old Jennifer Timony and 41-year-old Dwayne Timony, both residents in the RM of Portage la Prairie.

Dwayne Timony has been released on a Promise to Appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial court on June 25, 2012, and Jennifer Timony has been released on a Promise to Appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial court on August 13, 2012.

Along with all other areas of crime, Central Plains RCMP continue to focus on street level drug trafficking to maintain safe communities within Portage la Prairie and the surrounding areas.
