On May 31, 2012, at 6am, Blue Hills RCMP responded to a suspicious person complaint reported by a rural property owner in the RM of Elton, approximately 14 miles northeast of Brandon Manitoba.

The property owner informed police the male suspect was rummaging through his four vehicles and was last seen walking eastbound on PR 353. Police attended a short time later and located the male suspect who was in a Ford Econoline van with a Mississippi licence plate.

It was determined that the van had previously entered the ditch and the male was unable to remove it. Further investigation determined the van had been stolen from the amusement company work camp at the Brandon fair site.

21-year-old Kyle Aaron Olson of Brandon faces multiple charges including impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, attempted theft of 4 motor vehicles, obstructing police, criminally disqualified driving and 2 charges of breaching a probation order.
