Lac du Bonnet man dies in collision

A Lac du Bonnet man is dead after his vehicle collided with a moose and then rolled into a water filled ditch this past week near Powerview, Manitoba.

On July 6, 2012, just before midnight, Powerview RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal single vehicle collision on Highway 304, about 20 km north of Powerview.

Initial investigation indicates that a 1999 Ford Escort was travelling north when it collided with a moose. The car left the roadway and rolled over at least once, coming to rest upside down in a water filled ditch.

RCMP report that the male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene and was identified as a 23-year-old man from the RM of Lac du Bonnet.

Police say that there were no other occupants in the vehicle.
