RCMP investigate copper wire theft

Flin Flon RCMP are asking the public for assistance in locating a copper thief in relation to a theft incident that occurred this past week.

On July 13, 2012, Flin Flon RCMP received a report of a large quantity of copper wire being stolen from the abandoned Tartan Mine site, approximately 15km north of Flin Flon. The stolen wire is valued at approximately $15,000.

The wire missing is described as 2.75 in diameter and labeled with “Mustang 90 350 MCM 3/C type G or GC Portable Power Cable 90 C 2000Volts AIW Corp P)-136-35-MSHA”. This wire may already be stripped and processed for scrap.
