Destino

Destino will be performing at the Grace Mennonite Church in Steinbach on March 14 at 7:30pm.

Destino began as a trio – Joey Niceforo, Rosemary Siemens and Roy Tan. They had been working on various musical projects together for five years when the desire arose to create something completely different that had never been done before. They wanted to create a group consisting of two very difference voices and two very different instrumentalists. Naturally, they turned to Facebook. In their search for a versatile pop singer, they came across dynamic and entertaining New Yorker Terance Reddick. The search was over. Terance has a background in not just pop, but Gospel, R&B Musical Theatre and Jazz. He recently had his first taste of Broadway in the workshop/Lab MOTOWN the story of Berry Gordy. With extensive ballet training growing up in Las Vegas, Terance also recently landed a leading role in the Fulton Opera Houses “Dream Girls”. His comedic relief during our show keeps the audience laughing, and his sultry vocal lines keep them in total awe.

Joey Niceforo is the charming and charismatic founder of Destino. He has a beautiful romantic tenor voice with a honey quality reminiscent of times past. Joey grew up in the mining town of Sudbury, Ontario where he began singing under the tutelage of a French nun. He received his opera training at the University of Toronto.

Rosemary Siemens, violinist, brings sparkle to the group… literally! Her fashions sparkle as brightly as her eyes. But her talent with the violin outshines all else. She began playing at the age of three and is blessed with perfect pitch. She received her Master’s Degree in Music from the University of Miami. She has performed internationally, but her roots stem from Plum Coulee, Manitoba.

Roy Tan, the pianist, has been dubbed “the Mozart of the 21st century.” However, his friends from Destino call him ‘Roy-Pod’ because he can instantly play a masterful arrangement of any song. He arranges Destino’s music in collaboration with the other members. His unbelievable flair for improvisation will leave you amazed. Roy’s talent also extends to singing.

The group has had a number of wonderful performance opportunities on NBC and ABC TV networks, Entertainment Tonight, Canada AM, E-talk, the Beijing Summer Olympics, the Vancouver Winter Olympics, and the Miss America pageant in Las Vegas. Venues include Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Walt Disney World and St. Peter’s Basilica. Fans around the world love Destino’s melodic and inspirational repertoire that draws from past and present. The music is “real” and draws from the diverse backgrounds and experiences of these four friends.

Tickets for the concert are available by calling 204-346-1077.
