On July 5, 2015, at approximately 9pm, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 59 and Oak Grove Road in the RM of Ritchot.

Police say that a pickup truck was traveling west on Oak Grove Road, attempting to cross Highway 59, when it collided with a southbound car on Highway 59.

The driver of the truck, a 20-yaer-old RM of Tache man, was not injured in the collision. The driver of the car, a 35-year-old Niverville woman, along with her five passengers, including a 42-year-old man and four children between the ages of seven and two, were transported to Winnipeg hospital. All injuries were non-life threatening.

RCMP report that alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision. Brendan Gauthier-Gobeil, the driver of the truck, has been charged with proceeding before it is safe to do so under the Highway Traffic Act.
