Arrests made in drug bust

On November 4, 2009, Selkirk RCMP executed an arrest warrant on a Selkirk man wanted by RCMP who was located in a hotel room at the South Beach Casino and Resort in Scanterbury, Manitoba.

The man was wanted by RCMP for breaching conditions of a recognizance relating to several outstanding drug and weapon’s charges.

RCMP also located a Selkirk woman present in the hotel room with the man and both were found to be in possession of controlled drugs. As a result of the arrest, Selkirk RCMP conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant later in the day on the hotel room.

During the arrest and search, RCMP seized approximately 70 oxycodone pills with an approximate street value of $1,400, a small amount of crack cocaine, approximately 15 grams of marijuana and over $400.00 cash.

RCMP have charged 22-year-old Alexander Paul DoyleE of Selkirk with possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of breach of recognizance.

RCMP have also charged 19-year-old Jade Aylyssa Hood, also a resident of Selkirk, with possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of breaching a recognizance relating to outstanding drug and weapon’s charges.
