After a busy season of planning summer festivals, of hosting school groups, of operating kids’ day camps, and of welcoming visitors from around the world, Mennonite Heritage Village begins our winter season of events and programs with the Christmas Market on Saturday, November 8.

This Market features over 30 local vendors of quality, handmade items. It’s a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the talent and dedication of our local artisans, who create unique gifts for you to share with your friends and family. This is also a great time to stop at Village Books and Gifts to shop for unique toys and games, or to pick up a book by a local author for your winter reading.

MHV is taking this opportunity to support our local food bank, South East Helping Hands by inviting market shoppers to bring a ‘Tin For The Bin’ to assist in stocking their shelves with non-perishable food for the upcoming months. There is no admission fee to the market, but all food and money collected will be directed to the food bank.

Besides the artisan market, there will also be a children’s craft corner inside the Village Centre and outside, we will be offering horse-drawn wagon rides to experience the outdoor village in a fall setting.

A market wouldn’t be complete without great food and the MHV Auxiliary is selling waffles with white sauce as a lunch treat for the whole family on Saturday. This fresh food canteen is reason enough to visit the Christmas Market this Saturday.

If you are interested in learning more about the MHV Christmas Market, or if you want to know about our other programs planned for November and December, visit our website at www.mhv.ca and click on our events page, or call our reception staff at 204-326-9661 during our hours of operation. In autumn and winter, we are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday.

It’s time to embrace the changing seasons in Manitoba! The MHV Christmas Market offers unique gift ideas, fun activities and delicious food for everyone in your household. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday!
