Last week PC MLA for the Agassiz constituency, Stuart Briese, announced that he would not be seeking re-election in the next provincial election. Stuart was first elected in 2007 for the riding of Ste. Rose as it was then called. Prior to entering provincial politics, he served for 20 years in municipal politics including terms as both the Vice President and the President of the Association of Manitoba Municipalities and as a director of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

I have enjoyed working with Stuart and have benefited from his insight into a number of issues, particularly as it relates to municipal matters. He has been a tremendous asset to our P.C. Caucus and I look forward to working with him for the remainder of his term. On behalf of residents of the southeast, thank you Stuart for your contribution to our province.
