Standing on my Soap Box

Let your yes be yes and your no be no

There is a verse that says “let your yes be yes and your no be no.”

Recently I was talking with someone and said something that I heard from a long past family member. It was completely true information. However, due to this person not hearing it from that person themselves they doubted that the story was true. I was HURT. I have always tried to tell the truth. Some of the things that I say may sound outlandish (believe me to my own ears they sound a little “out there”), but I promise you they are true. I have lived through them.

So with that said, let me get on my soap box and have a little discussion with you…

Always make sure that what you say is true. This will get you a reputation of being truthful. This way when you speak to someone about any subject matter they will know your reputation and believe you when you speak.

As I sit here, life has a way of throwing “stuff” at you that makes you want to question your abilities, who you are as a person, and what you thought God had said was you. I have three posters at my desk that are for my encouragement and reminders – they are Isaiah 14:27 – For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him?  His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back. The poster I have says it better “Nothing can stop God’s plan for your life.” The second one is Joel 2:25 – I will repay you for the years the locust have eaten – the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm – my great army that I sent among you. – Again the poster that I have says “God can restore what is broken and change it into something amazing. All you need is faith.” My third and final poster states “God didn’t bring you this far to abandon you.

So when people question your abilities or your truth – hold fast to the Lord. He knows what is happening and he will bring about to his will for your life. Know that you are not the only one who has gone through junk, and that the enemy wants you either to be so busy you cannot breath, or he wants you so defeated that you THINK that you are no good for anything – that is a lie!  In the words of a song done by One Accord and Danny Plett – GOD DON’T MAKE NO JUNK!
