February is “I Love To Read Month” where we encourage young people to become active and lifelong readers. Traditionally I donate books to the libraries of schools with elementary children in the Steinbach Constituency. This year, I am pleased to donate the book “Princess” by local photographer Dennis Fast who is renowned for his photography of polar bears in Manitoba’s north.
As well, I am donating the book “You Are Here: Around the world in 92 minutes” by Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield who inspired Canadians and others around the world during his time aboard the International Space Station.
Reading is still an amazing way to open up a world of knowledge and opportunity for young people. Make sure you encourage a young person in your life to become someone who loves to read.
