I am pleased to welcome back to the Manitoba Legislature all 56 of my colleagues after the annual summer recess for the beginning of the Fall Session.
The legislature will deal primarily with bills introduced in the spring that have yet to be passed into law. They include measures to end the annual ‘Vote Tax’ public subsidy for political parties and to ensure by-elections are called within six months of a legislature seat becoming vacant. It also includes bills to better support vulnerable children in care.
It is expected that the Legislature will be in session into December.
