Recently I had the privilege of attending the Rescue on the Island event, put on by the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS) team.
It is always humbling to see the incredible work performed by the group of doctors, pilots and paramedics that are such a vital component of our health care system. These women and men save lives and work with integrity and excellence every day in their service to Manitobans.
Most of the calls that STARS respond to are in rural communities that are over an hour away from a trauma care centre. Here in Southeast Manitoba we know firsthand that a prompt response can mean the difference between life and death.
We are very fortunate to have such tremendous medical professionals working to improve the lives of Manitobans, thank you for all you do for our community STARS.
