Manitoba’s 2018/19 provincial budget will be unveiled on March 12th. Since being elected to office nearly two years ago, our government has been working hard on making Manitoba the most improved province and bringing our finances back into line.

Under the previous NDP government, Manitoba was tracking to have annual deficits well above a billion dollars a year. That would have meant less services today and a future burden on the next generation of Manitobans. Despite the growing deficit, Manitobans were also experiencing record tax increases under the NDP. Since being elected, we have been able to stop the growth of the deficit and begin to reduce it as we take a responsible path back towards balance. As well, our budgets have held the line on tax increases.

These steps are important to all Manitobans and truly require an all hands on deck approach. On March 12th, we will update Manitobans on the progress that has been made and the path forward for the 2018/19 budget year.
