Red Tape Reduction

Government regulations can provide important rules and protections for a variety of issues that impact Manitobans. However, over time and without review, they can also become redundant, unnecessary or inhibitors to growth.

As a result, shortly after being elected, our government set about reducing red tape by examining Manitoba regulations. This week we reported on this effort. In all, between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2018 the number of regulatory requirements in our province were reduced from 948,599 to 924,180. That is a 2.6 per cent decrease.

This work is just beginning and we are committed to reporting regularly on the work to reduce red tape and regulatory burden on Manitoba families and businesses.
