View From the Legislature

This week was also proclaimed Rail Safety Week in Manitoba. This initiative came about from legislation brought forward by Dawson Trail MLA Bob Lagasse following a tragic accident in Ste. Anne.

Many rail accidents are preventable, and raising awareness for rail safety will keep more people safe in our communities. With thousands of kilometers of railways in Manitoba and hundreds of incidents across North America every year, it’s vital that Manitobans be aware of rail crossings and are cautious when dealing with railway infrastructure.

Thank you to MLA Lagasse for this important initiative. It is a great step toward improving the safety of Manitobans.
