Legislature Back in Session

This week, the Manitoba Legislature is back in session. As with most sessions, there are a number of important issues before the Legislature that need to be debated and decided upon.

In addition to completing the budget process, a number of pieces of legislation need to be debated. This includes legislation to take action on night hunting to restrict this dangerous practice. It also includes legislation to end forced unionization through the past NDP practice of forcing non-unionized companies to pay union dues on some construction projects.

As Government House Leader, I look forward to working with all political parties to ensure important issues are dealt with for the benefit of all Manitobans.

This session will also be of interest in that for the first time in about 20 years there will be three official parties represented in the House as the Liberal party has regained official status with their recent St. Boniface by-election win.

I look forward to updating you on the activities of this Legislative session as it progresses.
