Remembrance Day Service

The Steinbach Legion once again put on a tremendous tribute this Remembrance Day at a standing room only ceremony at the Pat Porter Active Living Centre on Sunday. The ceremony marked the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended World War 1.

Recent ceremonies have been augmented in Steinbach by the inclusion of local Cadets who help to honour the men and women who have served this great nation and defended its freedom and continue to do so today. The local Cadets were again a welcomed and impressive presence at Remembrance Day. Pastor Marc Moir brought forward a wonderful message and reflected from his own experience in performing “Padre X” across Canada and telling the story of Victoria Cross recipient and army Chaplin John Weir Foote.

It was again heartening to see so many people come to remember and to honour those who have served to make Canada a great nation in which to live. Thank you to all of those who helped organize the ceremony.
