It has been another hot summer that has resulted in a few intense storms in Manitoba. That was certainly the case with the recent intense rain event that Steinbach experienced last week. Media from across Manitoba captured what was described as flash flooding with startling aerial shots.
Just as impressive as the force of Mother Nature was the quick response by local municipal employees in Steinbach and Hanover who were out immediately to ensure drains were open and the water was being cleared as quickly as possible. Many residents in Winnipeg who heard of the storm and saw its impact were surprised to learn how quickly the water left the streets of Steinbach and much credit goes to our municipal staff who responded efficiently and professionally to the unexpected storm.
