I am pleased to announce several successful local grants that have been awarded in the constituency of Steinbach, from the provincial Community Places Program. Nearly $135,000.00 worth of grants have been made possible due to the great work of local community organizations. These grants are in addition to the fundraising efforts and other funding secured by these community groups for their projects.
Some of the projects being funded are; the first phase of the Southwood Community Nature Playground, Steinbach Seniors Age Friendly Gardens, a Road Safety Play Park, the development of Amberfield Park in Mitchell, refurbishments at the Mennonite Heritage Village, upgrades for Kleefeld’s recreation centre, a BMX bike track at A.D. Penner Park, park upgrades in Blumenort, and a Soccer Park building for washrooms, change rooms and a canteen in Steinbach. Congratulations to all those who have been funded by Community Places Program grants, I am glad to see so many projects in our region receive support.
