Trail Talking

I am happy to report that since the beginning of this year, several organizations in the constituency of Dawson Trail have received grants from our Manitoba government.

Manitobans understand that a stable income and financial certainty are necessary for retirement. Our government is working diligently on strengthening the province’s pension system to ensure that steadiness after their working years.

With the legislative session wrapped up for the next few months, I am looking forward to getting out more in the Dawson Trail constituency.

Our Manitoba government is now providing non-profit groups and charitable organizations with a modern and efficient grant support program for community development projects.

Our government has been busy since we returned to the House in early March to work on legislation for the benefit of Manitobans. This period has also given me opportunities to present a couple of private member’s statements in honour of inspiring residents of the Dawson Trail constituency.

Despite the frigid weather and snowfall we experienced in February, it turned out to be a great month. This is largely because February is I Love to Read Month, when schools across Manitoba share the importance and joy of reading with students.

I’m hoping to spend lots of time out and about in the constituency this month, before the legislative session picks up again in March. And some exciting events are being held in Dawson Trail this winter.

Our government is on the right path with our health-care improvements, and our plan is working. We are keeping our promise to Manitobans by delivering better care sooner.

Our government is well on its way to making Manitoba the most improved province in Canada, and will take further steps on that path during the new legislative session that began in November.

The ongoing legislative session this fall involves a lot of work for my fellow MLAs and myself, as our provincial government discusses, debates and votes on bills for the benefit of Manitobans.
