View From the Legislature

Tuesday was a sad day for Canada. Three of our countries bravest; Const. Dave Joseph Ross, Const. Douglas James Larche, and Const. Fabrice Georges Gevaudan were honoured at a funeral in Moncton, New Brunswick and laid to rest.

On Wednesday of this week, the Manitoba P.C. Party went to court to try to reverse the increase of the PST that the NDP government brought forward last year.

Sometime soon, the NDP government is planning to go to the Public Utilities Board and ask for a rate hike on your auto insurance.

Last week federal Liberal leader Justin Trudeau told Canadians that anyone who is interested in running for the Liberal Party has to be pro-abortion.

This past Saturday a friend of mine from the Nigerian community in Winnipeg asked if I would come to the Legislature the following day, Mother’s Day, to participate in a quickly called rally in support of the nearly 300 Nigeria schoolgirls that were recently kidnapped by the extremist group Boko Haram.

I was honoured to present an award to Steinbach resident Hank Klassen on Tuesday evening as a token of thanks for the many years of volunteer service he has given our region.
