We currently have an opportunity for a Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing team. As the Marketing Specialist you’ll be responsible for the creation and execution of effective marketing plans that align with SCU’s marketing strategy. You’ll play an integral role in building and engaging SCU’s prospects and member base and create effective strategies that align with SCU’s brand and promote long-term growth.
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing plans, generating growth by targeting the right members and prospects with a variety of marketing techniques
- Draft detailed marketing briefs informed by data and research, establish measurable campaign goals and obtain stakeholder input and approval
- Identify opportunities to leverage member segmentation insights to add value to marketing initiatives
- Identify and partner with external vendors and internal stakeholders to develop concepts, designs and content targeted at our key member segments and prospects; provide expert direction and insight to partners and team members
- Oversee the creation of high quality and effective marketing materials that align correctly with SCU’s overall brand strategy and guidelines
- Investigate, assess and recommend new or emerging strategies to reach members and/or non-members by segment
- Integrate market research and data extracts into marketing initiatives
- Establish deadlines and coordinate work with key stakeholders and suppliers/vendors to ensure deadlines are met
- Protect the integrity of SCU brand while managing relationships with community stakeholders, vendors and suppliers
- Manage projects within allotted budget in a responsible manner ensuring maximized return
- Develop clear and concise communications and presentations to share marketing plans, results and recommendations with the executive team and internal stakeholders
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal members by providing them with appropriate leads, tools, materials and presentations
- Work closely with the marketing team and other company departments to ensure a coordinated approach to marketing campaigns
- Negotiate placement and pricing for advertising as required to maximize impact while managing investment
- Oversee the development of member communication pieces
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and vendor partners
- Act as strategic lead for internal projects, providing input, direction and approvals throughout the creative development process
Qualifications
- Post secondary degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Advertising
- A minimum of five years of progressive marketing experience including developing and implementing marketing programs and materials, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Software proficiency, including MS Office Professional
- Knowledge of marketing research standards and best practices
