A 36-year-old West St. Paul woman has died as the result of a recent three-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 8 near the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews, Manitoba.

On December 3, 2021, at approximately 6:30pm, Selkirk RCMP responded to a three-vehicle collision on Highway 8, just south of Meadowdale Road in the RM of St. Andrews.

Investigation determined that a pickup truck traveling north on Highway 8, crossed the centre line and collided head-on with an SUV traveling in the opposite direction. A third vehicle, traveling south, rear-ended the SUV as a result.

RCMP report that the driver of the SUV, a 36-year-old female, along with an 11-year-old male passenger, both from the RM of West St. Paul, were taken to hospital. The driver of the pickup truck, a 58-year-old male, along with a 57-year-old female passenger, both from Winnipeg, were also taken to hospital. Police noted that the driver of the third vehicle, a 70-year-old Winnipeg man, was not physically injured.

Police say that on December 4, the 36-year-old female succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

Icy roads are believed to be a factor in this collision. Selkirk RCMP, along with a RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate this incident.
